Heuchera aceroides

• Most Heucheras grown for their colorful flowers do well in coastal Southern California -- in fact, some are actually hybrids of species native to nearby regions. However, many of the newer Heuchera hybrids grown mostly for their colorful foliage may be short-lived, due to warm summers, lack of winter chill, and alkaline irrigation water. Plant them in partial to full shade for best results.
