3 - Garden a lot, with some success -
Who is your own favorite gardening personality on TV, radio or in print? Why?
I like Paul James the Gardener Guy on HGTV. He is a little silly, but he gives a lot of information that is helpful to me. -
If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
That's a tough one. I think right now it would be tomatoes (they aren't doing too well this year.) -
What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
Two plants. Matilija Poppy, I think I overwater them. And tomatoes. Some years they are great and then no matter what I do, some years they are pathetic. -
What is your favorite time in the garden?
The first thing in the morning, in summer about 6:00am, when everything is fresh, it's cool and the birds are singing. -
What is your favorite color in the garden?
Orange and subtle shades of orange. i.e., apricot, orange blends, buff, shrimp. -
What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
My Mother. I grew up on a farm/cattle ranch, we raised all of our own vegetables and fruit. I didn't especially like working in the garden then, I seemed to be relegated to weeding. But, I think it sunk in how satisfying it is to grow things and so I work at it a lot. I still don't like to weed, but what are you going to do. -
What do you dislike most about gardening?
Pulling weeds and deadheading flowers. -
