What is a garden myth you hear frequently which you know is untrue?
Pollarding a tree is good for it. -
And, what is the reality?
Pollarding a tree is actually very unhealthy for the tree. It allows insects & diseases an easy entry point into the tree. The sucker growth that occurs after trimming creates a top-heavy tree and can cause the tree to topple in high wind conditions. -
