Brugmansia spp. Angels Trumpet

I have an angel trumpet that has gotten frosted. I did cut some of the dead wood off. Now I just have more dead wood. The base of the plant looks green and very much alive. There is absolutely no new growth visible. How much frost can they take and what are the chances of this plant surviving?

Sub-tropical plants such as angel trumpets took a big hit in our below freezing weather. Cutting it back, even what seems like dead wood can weaken the plant even further. It probably would have been best if you had waited to prune out the dead wood. Patience is the key now, if you have green growth below there is a good possibility that the plant might come back, but it's had a severe shock and it will take some time before it will fully recover. Keep your clippers in the closet for another month or so to see if you get any new growth, sometimes after a shock a plant needs to rest before it puts out new foliage.

Without seeing the plant or knowing the circumstance it's difficult to tell if your plant will recover. Factors include:
age and size of the plant,
location - whether it was somewhat sheltered or took the full hit of the freeze,
what part of the area you are in - how long and how cold it was where you live,
how long the plant has been in it's spot - if newly planted or transplanted it probably won't make recover,
and, of course, the health of the plant before the freeze.
