Yellow leaves

How do you prevent leaves from turning yellow and falling off? Could this be a stabilization issue following a re-potting and a move from outdoors to indoors? Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hi, It could be a transition. How did you repot it? Did it have a good looking root system? What was the pot size you used? It should only have been one size bigger than the last one, with good drainage. Make sure you aren't keeping it to moist after just repotting it. Use a wooden chopstick to test how wet the soil is. Stick it down in the middle and pull it up. If it's really wet you will be able to see that. If that soil on the stick is dusty looking or not stuck to it at all then it needs more water. It is natural for them to loose some bottom leaves and if it's really dry. Check the stems to make sure they are firm. If they are soft or mushy you will lose the hole stem. Also check the back of the leaves for spidermites.

My draceana marginata lost ALL of its leaves when it was left outside in the sun for too long. Believe me- I didn't do it! However- with a little TLC- the plant completely recovered. It's one of my toughest houseplants- surviving multiple moves and negligent plant sitters! Mine drops yellow leaves- usually if it is stressed- very possible leaf drop as result of changing it's environment. Right now I need to rid mine of mealy bug (denatured alcohol on a paintbrush- followed by a spray of neem oil)- which will also cause leaves to drop prematurely- mealy bugs like to hang out where the leaf attaches to the stem. Overwatering seems to also turn the lower leaves yellow.
