Grafting tomatoes??

I'm just a curious soul....
Has anyone had experience with grafting tomatoes? I recently discovered there is such a thing! I read about it a little, and plan on doing some more research in the meantime on it. This does make sense in a way to me. I just wanted to know if anyone here has experimented with this. Do you think it is worth the time and effort?
If you have experimented with this, could you share your experiences or failures?

I have a small garden but I think I might give this a try just to see if it might work. I have learned to propagate new tomatoes by using sucker's off of the mother plant. with a bit of success.

Oh my! This topic was the subject of lengthy debate and discussion on our Master Gardener listserve. In the end everyone decided it would be a fun experiment, but not really a productive use of time with growing tomatoes. However, please let us know how it turns out.
