Mexican Bush Sage

I think salvia leucantha/ Mexican Bush Sage has got to be one of the real main characters of the garden. It's tough, beautiful, spreading and there are just so many other plants that combine beautifully with it. We could probably do endless combinations with it. It's just that right color of purple that mixes well. I have a lot of centranthus rubra and it does seed a lot and pop up wherever it wants to, so I get to see how it looks when it does it's appearing act wherever. Right now I'm seeing how absolutely beautiful it is with the Bush sage. At this time it's the same height as the Mexican sage and the colors of the purple mixed with the hot pink of the centranthus and also the more reddish centranthus is stunningly beautiful. I love the centranthus for it's durability and for the butterflies and hummers,but also because it seeds in places whereI wouldn't have thought to plant it. It makes itself at home. If anyone is planting other things with their Bush Sage, I'd like to hear about it.

I planted some Mexican Sage with some Jerusalem Sage, gold Daylilies, and Gaillardia 'Goblin'. I love the red/yellow/purple colors together.
