Creeping Wire Vine

There are two closely related plants called wire vine.
Muehlenbeckia axillaris is the creeping wire vine, a slow grower that clumps up and is good for a rock garden. It's pretty well behaved.
The other, more invasive one is Muehlenbeckia complexa called Mattress Vine or Wire Vine. It's a twining vine that can climb to 20-30 feet, so it's best to keep it in a container, but it's really nice for a topiary.
Neither are very picky about soil. Both need regular water.
While they tolerate shade, if you are going to keep a topiary in the house, the best thing is to get or make two or three of the same topiary shape so you can trade them out, never leaving the same one in the house for more than two weeks at a time.
