Root knot nematodes

Any tips on how to control Root knot nematodes? (without killing everything else!) -Yes, I am guilty of growing tomatoes year round here by the beach in San Diego and creating this problem! I discovered the problem when I pulled out a cape mallow (Anisodontia) that died somewhat suddenly- and the root knot was very evident. I pulled out all the tomatoes, and another couple Anisodontia- all were infested. My soil is a sandy loam with layers/ lenses of dense clay- fairly well compost ammended- pH of about 6.3. I am worried about my Passiflora edulis vine- which I have read is prone to nematodes. I guess there is a resistant variety- I don't know what I have- I grew it from seed and this is the first year it has bloomed- all-white flowers. I read that adding mycelium from oyster mushrooms help control root knot nematode-I actually have some, but I am not sure how to apply. Has anyone tried this? Any other suggestions? I am letting the ground dry out as much as possible- I read they require moisture for survival. I am also interested in resistant cover crops that might work in my area. I have a very small garden, mostly along the east side of a solid wood fence. Thanks for any help out there!
