yellow leaves on Bauhinia blakeleana

I planted a Bauhinia blakeana 6 months ago and it has done fine. Lately I notice a profusion of yellow leaves with green veining that fall off. ? magnesium deficiency. Also, this is weird, sometimes little droplets come off the leaves in the late afternoon that feel like water. No bugs that I can see. Possibly am I overwatering? Thanks in advance, Nancita

Some yellow and dropping leaves are normal in the fall on a Bauhinia, especially if temperatures are dropping into the 50s or below. If the leaves are mainly older ones closer to the trunk, and the newer leaves at the tips of the stems are looking good, I wouldn't worry much, but if the new leaves look yellow and chlorotic, then it's either a mineral defficiency (iron and or manganese) or root problems.

It's hard to say if you're overwatering without hearing more detail about where you are, where it's planted, size, age, sun, etc., but in the ground a decent sized bauhinia shouldn't need water more than 2-3 times a week, depending on all the variables above.
