NEW PLANTED RED APPLE ICE PLANT CARE???

Thanks for checking up on me. Sorry I haven't been online...it has been about a month since I lasted posted on here or even looked....I have been very busy in the yard and too tired at night to do much web-surfing. i really do appreciate the advice you shared with me,thank you!

I planted two types of ice plant: The larger looking variety on my backyard slope and the red apple in the front. I will post some pictures soon...The red apple is doing pretty good, actually! Most of it looks very healthy and it has grown a bit...weeding is a pain in the behind, though! I just try to stay ahead of the weeds by pulling 3 or 4 handfuls a couple of times a week.

The iceplant on my back yard slope is doing fair...some spots better than others. Up until last weekend when it started raining, keeping it watered was a bit of a problem for me...I was doing it manually and sometimes didn't have the time to water it as much as I should.

An employee at Lowe's told me the other day that October is the best month for planting ice plant...so I may try to do a few more spots on my slope.

The picture I posted was taken from my roof, so it is deceiving...the slope is about 50 feet long from bottom to top.

Besides that, I have planted two rose bushes...one has already bloomed beautifully!

I planted a small bird of paradise and another type of plant that is similar...not sure what is was...geez...I need to start taking note of what I buy so I can remember later!

I also put down weedliner (which probably doesn't work work very well at all) and mulch all my flower beds.

I spread steer manure on my slope and in the front with the red apple ice plant...not alot...just some to give it extra nutrients...someone recommended that to me.

I also bought some Palm Spring Gold 1/2 to 1 inch rock to cover a couple of my flower beds.

My next projects are laying some pavers and redoing the small retaining wall in my front yard where the red apple ice plant grows....

I am leaving for Japan at the end of next month, so hopefully I will get it all done!

Thanks for checking...the rain has halted my forward progress for a few days, but it looks like I will be able to start again this weekend.
