Help! No matter what I do my alstromeria come up out of the ground and before they bloom they fall over. Not a very pretty display, I must say. If you know why they do that, I'd appreciate your input. Is it just their nature?

Barbara,
I can't say I've had that problem, but I have seen my Alstromeria be very sensitive to the amount of water they get. After 10 years or so I've consistently seen them do much better when they get lots of water. I've stripped many of mine out to make a bank for a new pond... so far they're popping right back up again.

Good luck.

Well some get tall, other stay short. You may have to stake the taller ones. I have seen some that were at least 7' tall. You might say 'no way' but yea 'way' -- way tall. Also be sure you are using a plant food with a good amount of 'P' and 'K' makes stronger stems.... If it is mostly nitrogen, they can grow fast and weak
