I am new to this site and I have an emergency regarding my pepper plant. :( The leaves are developing blue veins and are becoming yellow. Only the old leaves are being affected however I am seeing blue veins pattern on the new leaves as well. The plant blooms but fails to give fruit, the flowers turn yellow and drops immediately. Can anyone help me with this problem? I have searched the internet and my gardening books and cannot find a solution! I do not know if it is pest or disease related even. I am grateful for any help you can aid me in.

I guess if this is a true 'emergency' the plant may not still there. It has been a while since you asked for help. You mentioned that the older leaves were the most effected, but you did not say how you were caring for the plant or what variety it is or how long you have had it. Maybe where you live might have some bearing on what is happening. Not sure how the soil was prepared. I can only 'suggest', when you plant out new veggies (and most other annuals) it is a good idea to amend the soil with a good 'planter mix' or compost you have produced yourself. The pant should be watered regularly, if it is hot you may need to water every day. The plant should also respond to fertilizer. I would try a 'balanced' plant food, something with almost equal parts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash' Maybe a 5 - 5 - 5 or something close to that, it does not have to be 'exact'. Maybe find one that says 'For Vegetables'. It should give you a hint as to how much you should use, and also how often. Most that I know of say 'once a month' and maybe a half cup for a plant 12" tall, but scattered about 12" from the trunk of the plant. Be sure to water after you apply it to get it into the root area. This is the best I can do with the information you posted. Another important bit of information you left out, is it in a container (what size) or in the ground?
