Planting Under Pine Trees - Recommendations

I had to trim the pine tree line on our property because the bottom branches were dead. I have about 6' of space under the pine trees, and I would like to find plants that will do well under/around pine trees. I would like a fast growing plant to fill in the gaps. The area is mostly shaded.

Do you have any recommendations?
