Caring for cushion mums

I bought a dozen or so cushion mum plants last fall and about eight of them have come back up this year. I was sort of surprised. How do I care for them, ie. cutting back and when. I am too lazy to look it up, if someone will just tell me :)

If your mums start to get a little leggy, pinch back the ends so that they will branch and look fuller. In some parts of the country, you will get a small bloom in late spring. If you do, trim out the spent blooms when they finish. Either way you should get a large bloom from them in the fall. Just keep them mulched and water them if you have a dry spell.
