Lawn care; no curbs for protection!

Lawn care; no curbs for protection! was created by suzanna57
Anybody have any brilliant ideas to deal with a lawn in an area with no curbs? We live in a small subdivision and even tho we see little traffic, some folks do cut it close on the corners and a variety of service vehicles (like the garbage trucks) have a tendency to drive over onto the grass...killing it right where it meets the asphalt. Has anyone else been frustrated with this? I was thinking of removing the grass and replacing it with...what? Just a few feet back from the road so it won't look bad if an occasional person is careless.
Thanks for any suggestions!

hi, How about replacing it with a foot wide strip of mulch woodchips or gravel. on second thought a spike strip or a bed of nails might teach them to be more careful. lol

I'll have to take a couple shots and post 'em. Don't have any at the moment that show the street.
