acid soil

I live in upper new york state. I have 10 beutiful tall pine trees in my front yard that keeps it cooler than my back yard. Can any one tell me what i can plant that will trive in this acid soil??? thank...Tammy

It has been a long time since I lived in New England but remember Blue Berries, Rhododendrons, Azalea, Witch Hazel, Lilac(Syringa), Spirea, Deutzia, Apples. Please give us a better idea of what you have in mind as to size and purpose of plants. Try going to the web site of Western Nursery in Hopkinton MA. They are large growers and should give you a good idea of what will grow in your area.
