weeding quiz

My daughter and I were debating the best weeding position. I wondered if we could hold a survey.

When you pull weeds by hand do you:
1. squat
2. kneel
3. bend at the waist
4. sit on your bottom
5. Who weeds!

I am a squatter.
my daughter is a bender and a bottom sitter.

Who else wil weigh in?

I used to bend at the knees, but since I turned 40 that sort of hurts, so now I bend at the waist (even though I think that's probably bad for my back!)

I try to use a hoe when I can. If that does not work I get on my knees. Then the problem is getting up. Now that is a tough one. But I try to have something handy to help, like a hoe! Had my hip replaced two years ago befoe that it was only the hoe. When they can replace body parts it help a lot, usually

It really depends on whether or not it's a "quickie" or a "serious" session, the first being bent over and grabbing a couple weeds as I pick the tomato, and the second is getting the kneeling pad out and my new Cobra head weeder and going for it!
