I followed your advice last year and it worked great for me. I'm going to do the same this year too. It seemed like growing three in one container made it a little crowded, so i think i'm just going to try two per container this year. I've got all my stuff together and i'm planning on doing it this weekend.
I did four pots this way last year, on one of them i got lazy and skipped the step about cleaning the pot with some very diluted bleach water - and it really came back to bite me - that pot didn't do well at all. I'm not skipping that step ever again:blink: .
Thanks again walter

What kind of tomato would you suggest for growing in pots? Will some do better than others? Smaller ones?

Hi jonnib - i'm not and expert, but i've been told that you should stay away from the beefsteak types ( i mean the really big ones), only because where you live it doesn't get hot enough to really make those big guys thrive.
The little ones, cherry tomatoes, yellow and red pear tomatoes and the 'grape' tomatoes do great. A few varieties that have worked for me in pots - 'Ace', 'Celebrity' and Early Girl, all of them should be available at your local independent nursery like Walter Andersen's or Mission Hills.
i hope that helps!
