dwarf avocados

Well, at least you can come and visit your sister! I picked one of mine and am waiting impatiently for it to ripen!

I grew up growing fuerte avocados. With fuerte the trick is to pick them after they form a dimple in the fat end of the fruit. I did that this year with our Holiday as well and it seems to work. After they ripen indoors I'll let you know the result.

I have a great Hass avocado - i'd love to get another kind to grow too, but i don't have enough room. Anyone ever graft a branch of one kind of Avo onto another tree? I'm thinking of just one branch instead of trying to graft to a root stock.

Also, what variety would you suggest? something maybe that would ripen at different time than the hass.
