Eating nastursiums and Torrey Pine nuts

What part of the Nastursium plant is edible? Also, relative to the Torrey Pine nut, I have read somewhere that some people like to eat the nuts from pine trees. Is the Torry Pine one of those? And are there any precautions, such as roasting before eating. Will I be breaking my teeth in trying to eat themm?? The seeds seem VERY hard!! And if I can't eat them, how should they be planted? Do they need freezing temperature or do they need to go through a forest fire?
