Late ripening tomatoes/taste

Our tomatoes have been very slow in ripening this year. Sometimes the anticipation just doesn't equal the taste. We tried 'Paul Robeson' and found it juicy but lacking flavor and it didn't ripen evenly. You can't pull them off of the vine They must be cut off or they will tear the plant.

The 'Black Russian' which is a paste tomato, becomes a dark red color when ripe. It was delicious; meaty, not very seedy, and extremely flavorful.

Hopefully more information as the other types ripen.

What types of tomatoes are you growing and what has been your experience with them?

I'm thinking of starting a container garden on my patio. I'm very novice. I saw your note and am wondering about any other good tasting tomatoes.

Try starting our with either Celebrity or San Diego. Both have good taste and grow well here. Remember that pot grown plants will dry out faster then those growing in the ground.
Happy growing.
