Trees for privacy

Hello, We just moved into a house with a low fence and not so pretty view of our neighbor's yard. Can anyone suggest some trees that would grow approx 10'? I'm a rookie gardener, so any tips are appreciated.

Can you tell us a little more about where you live (Coast, Desert etc) and how much space you have? For instance is it a little sliver of a side yard, or do you have plenty of room which you want to block - it would be perfect if you could attach a photo of the area you'd like to fill.

The \"Purple Hopseed Bush\" is an excellent choice for a privacy screen of 15' or more. Plant them 4' apart. Water twice per week for the 1st 2 weeks, and then once per week there-after. Feed them one cup of GroPower Plus per month until they nearly reach the desired height. Put the fertilizer where the water will hit it. The Purple Hopseed Bush is native to the West and will have little to no problems with pests or diseases. You can trim the side opposite the fence if it gets to wide -- this will also encourage height.

There are other more common choices for privacy screens such as Privet, Eugenia, and Giant Pittosporum. They do require more care in the long run.
