Now is the time to dormant spray your fruit and nut trees. Prune them first and save some of your cuttings to bring inside to force the budded wood to bloom :-).
Here in Vista our trees are already starting to bud out.

do cuttings really bloom indoors with forcing? We had our Juneberry schrubs eaten by rabbits again this year. They are very old and established shrubs so I am not worried, but I did take the tender fresh shoots that we cut off (They were girdled by the rabbits) and put them in vases with perlite and water. This combo works wonderful for rooting pussy willows so I figured I might try the Juneberry. How about apple cuttings? Any luck with them?

I am so ready for spring!
