General Information

  • Instruction By Sandie Parrott
Notes This plant is easy to grow, but give it time to flower. Flowers are white and outstanding. This vine can grow to 50 feet! It requires partial sun to partial shade in our area. It can take full sun to full shade but flowering (less flowering in shade) and care (more water in sun) are affected. Make sure the soil drains well.

Best to fertilize in April or May and possibly once more in summer, but it isn\'t neccessary. Use a low Nitrogen fertilizer.

    5. Prune

This plant doesn\'t need pruning except to reduce the height or width or remove stray sideshoots.
    6. Mulch

Use mulch when planting and check it every spring. If the mulch has sunk into the ground, replace it. Never pile mulch near stem and never put mulch over 3 inches deep.
    7. Special requirements

If you have a new vine, train branches where you want them to grow during the spring and summer growing season buy loosely tying them. This vine can send out horizontal side branches that can ruin the look of the vine.
