Honeycrisp Apple (Malus pumila 'Honeycrisp' )

Malus pumila 'Honeycrisp'
Honeycrisp Apple
Honeycrisp is a very cold hardy apple developed by the University of Minnesota. The apple texture is coarse texture, light and very juicy. The flavor is described as well-balanced: sweet-tart. May not color as well in warmer climates. Other factors critical for high color are good sun exposure and avoiding excess nitrogen. Grows best in northern U.S., Canada and areas with a relatively cooler climate. Hardy to USDA zone 4. The bloom time is mid to late season and the fruit is usually ripe late season September to October.
