A hardy, deciduous vine that blossoms dependably in deep shade. If grown as a ground cover, it can spread up to 200 square feet. It has flattened clusters 6-10" wide of fragrant, white flowers in a lacecap configuration. Heart-shaped, serrate, lustrous, dark green leaves persist on the vine into late autumn, with little fall color. Exfoliating, reddish brown bark of older plants is attractive in winter. 'Firefly' - A brand new, patented variety that is special for its variegated foliage, this selection features leaves broadly margined with creamy yellow.
Needs a strong support structure if grown vertically.
