Aechmea pectinata is a self-incompatible bromeliad with inconspicuous flowers and found in Brazil. It has a mainly clumped distribution and its aggregated individuals are likely to be clones. These stunning plants can reach over one metre wide. The mottled green leaves are liberally splashed with vibrant pink, and the leaves turn this color from the tips to nearly the base at flowering.
