A perennial or annual in colder climates that has naturalized in California. Plants reach 3-6 feet but are airy and open with purple clusters of flowers on the end of tall stalks with few leaves. Leaves are mostly basal. Self-sows freely.
This plant needs good air circulation to avoid mildew.
