The majority of cultivated African Violets usually form rosettes of velvety green or variegated leaves that may be round or pointed. The original species bloom blue,lavender or purple with the flowers rising from the center of the rosette. Saintpaulia are derived from a limited gene pool of only two species, it is estimated that 20 different species of Saintpaulia exist in the wild. There are hundreds if not thousands hybrids ranging widely in flower color and overall size.

Africa Violets are grown all over the world has house plants or greenhouse plants. Do not expose to a frost. Can tolerate temperatures at night in high 40's.
