Dracaena draco is related to Agave and looks like one when young.It slowly develops a thick trunk, making it look more like a palm. After many years it will start to branch and can become very wide. It may take 10-15 years before it begins to flower.
Red resin from Dracaena draco, called dragon's blood, is used to finish fine voilins.
