Lime is a small twiggy tree with thorns. The fruit is small green to yellow. There is a thornless form.Flowers and fruit appear throughout the year but are most abundant from May to September
The lime ripens to full yellow and loses weight rapidly at normal room temperature in warm climates. In the home, the fruits can be held fresh for 2 or 3 weeks if kept in water in a closed jar.
