That there is such a thing as a low-maintenance garden. -
If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
Lilies can bloom from early June through late August, but it would be an ugly scene in terms of foliage. -

I need to see more. Hestercombe in Somerset, so far, with Villa Cimbrone in Ravello running a close second. -
What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
Great gardening writers like Christopher Lloyd have been inspirational and influential. -
What do you dislike most about gardening?
Weeding, dealing with infestations, and the continual watering during dry summers. -
What do you like most about gardening?
I like being outside, listening to the cicadas, and getting plants into the ground. I also like sitting in the garden with friends, enjoying fragrant flowers, and anticipating blooms to come. -
