  • Do you have a gardening philosophy you would like to share with other gardeners? What is it?
    My plants have to do well in my yard. It is fairly shady and the soil is sandy. Although I amend the soil, in no way can I keep up with it. So if a plant does not grow well, it has to leave and be replaced by something else. I do have a lot of lavender!

    lavender
  • What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
    Strawberries -- not enough sun or nutrients, without too much work

    SPRING

    Yellow, pink, red, blue, orange and sometimes white
  • What is your favorite place or activity in the garden?
    I love to sit in my garden in the summer and read. I also like to have a family dinner in the garden in the summer.

  • What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
    my grandmothers; Both of them were avid Gardners, raising flowers, veggies and fruit.
    My daughter, both of whom garden much like my grandmothers.
  • Gardening Dilemmas
    The on-going issue of adding nutrients to the garden. My sandy sandy soil just washes everything away quickly. I have some beautiful Japanese maples that have benefited nicely.

    Early winter clean up

    Ummm, hard one. pruning and stringing up new growth
