  • Biographical Information
    I'm a lifelong Vermonter. I have one foot in the West as my dad was a Wyoming cowboy in the nineteen twenties. I'm a painter and writer who has raised a large family. I was raised mostly in farming, forest work and riding horses. My husband and I like to travel, kayak and explore the US. as well as raising a small vegetable garden. We are in the process of building a garage. We have worked for over twenty-five years adding more flowering plants to improve our home site.

    People believing they can't grow anything, stating they don't have a 'green thumb'.

    If you are serious about growing a plant, you can do it. Just get some help from an experienced source.
  • What is your favorite gardening outfit or costume?
    Just Old shorts or jeans
  • Do you have a gardening philosophy you would like to share with other gardeners? What is it?
    Find out the facts about your zone,type of soil, site(sunny or shady)and start with the best plants for you. If you go against that advice, you may get discouraged.
  • If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
    Tomatoes

    No favorites, I love all colors.

    Seeing the results of hard work by mid-summer, whether veggies or flowers.

    My mother and mother-in-law, equally.
    They both raised wonderful gardens and house plants.

    Dealing with blight, (mildew) and pests.

    The bounty and the beauty.
