Biographical Information
I have dedicated most of my life to working and raising my daughter. Now I'm retired and she's an adult. So now I spend most of my time in my gardens. Everything that gets done I do. Everything that I do, I love to do.
My love of nature is what triggered the idea that we could start a business that combines nature and retail. So we started Chesapeake Gardens, an on line gift shop that sells tee shirts, Keds shoes, posters and prints, greeting cards and many other items that we design.

My straw hat with the maroon ribbon tied in a bow. My baggy tee shirt and loose fitting pants with pockets. My old black Rebok's and gardening gloves round out my gardening outfit. -

What I love about gardening is that when I am gardening, I get to go to a place where noone else has ever gone and can never go. I am in a peaceful world of my own. -

My philosophy is plant what you love. Nourish it and share it with others. -

What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
The plant that I would like to grow and can't is hydranga. I've killed everyone that I have ever bought. -

My favorite time in the garden is early morning. Between 6:30am - 8:00am -
What is your favorite color in the garden?
My favorite color in the garden is any shade of purple. -
What is your favorite place or activity in the garden?
My favorite place in the garden is the area in the back of the garden where I can sit on my park bench and see the entire garden. -
What is your favorite public or private garden in the world? Why?
Weston Gardens In Bloom because it is conviently located near my home. It is filled with Native Texas plants and beautiful art work by local sculptors. -
What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
My mother. I can't ever remember not having flowers in my life. I was because of her that I learned how important nature is and how we should protect it and always give back to it. -
Gardening Dilemmas
My only gardening dilemmas are unwanted critters. The two big problems I have are cats and squirrels. Both are intrusive and destructive. -
What do you dislike most about gardening?
What I dislike most about gardening is that it is expensive and I don't have enough money to complete all of the projets I have swirling around in my head. -
What do you like most about gardening?
What I like most about gardening is that it brings me closer to God. When I plant flowers or sow seeds, I become a creator of the Universe. I add something to the Universe that has never been seen before. -
