What is a garden myth you hear frequently which you know is untrue?
Grow your plants in native soil with out amendments they will do fine. -
And, what is the reality?
The reality is your plants may "survive". I prefer to have my plants THRIVE! -

Shorts, tank top and flip flops. -
What is the one question about gardening you would really like people to ask you?
How do I keep my plants healthy and thriving? -

Who is your own favorite gardening personality on TV, radio or in print? Why?
I really enjoy Nancy Goslee Powers. She is a outstanding Landscape Designer, and her book "The Gardens of California " is one of my favorites. -
Do you have a gardening philosophy you would like to share with other gardeners? What is it?
Grow your soil for beautiful and healthy plants -
If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
Hesperaloe parviflora - Wow what a hard working plant, great architectural plant, lovely foliage good color and long blooming period.
Did I mention humming birds LOVE it! -
What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
Cassia 'Buttercup' - it's just does not thrive in Ramona -
What is your favorite time in the garden?
Dusk. I love the color of the sky and how it illuminates the garden -
What is your favorite color in the garden?
Silver and purple -
What is your favorite place or activity in the garden?
Relaxing in a chair with my husband Carl at our pond, in the evening, and watching the wildlife -
What is your favorite public or private garden in the world? Why?
So far...my Mother and Father's garden, it is stunning and I had the pleasure of helping them design sections of it. I have great memories growing up there. -
What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
Two People... my Mother and Father, they allways encouraged me, and ignited a talent in me that I didn't realize I had (Garden Design) -
What do you dislike most about gardening?
Getting dirty! -
What do you like most about gardening?
I loose myself in the task at hand, all worries or stress seems to drift away. -
