What is a garden myth you hear frequently which you know is untrue?
That cannas are difficult -
And, what is the reality?
They grow like crazy for me. I'm always giving canna bulbs and plants away. They're gorgeous and easy which is why my friends and neighbors come to me for bulbs and plants. -
What is your favorite gardening outfit or costume?
denim shorts and baggy shirt or t-shirt in summer and sweat outfit in the fall/winter time -

If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
Supertunia because it speads all over. -
What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
I'd love to grow an Ixora plant. I tried to plant one last summer but it died pretty quickly. I saw them in Florida and they are gorgeous!!!!! The don't like cool weather and they will die in the frost areas. -
What is your favorite time in the garden?
Early morning - aroung 6 or 6:30 AM

Picking my flowers to share with neighbors -
What is your favorite public or private garden in the world? Why?
Haven't visited that many but I enjoyed the Pittsburgh Arboretum. -
What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
our local garden club - not a particular person -
What do you dislike most about gardening?
The time in between the bloom and the next bloom of roses. Also the diseases and problems associated with gardening.... and the little critters (rabbits) that love my flowers. -
What do you like most about gardening?
It's mental therapy. To get up in the morning when everything is quiet except the birds - it's peaceful! I also like when I plant something and it thrives and people ask for a snip of it because it looks so great. -
