    You will find me in the garden still in my work clothes watering,weeding, and turning the compost pile.

  • Who is your own favorite gardening personality on TV, radio or in print? Why?
    Dick Raymond, and Ruth Stout... Where have these people been all my life?! They have become strong influences on my gardening style.
  • Do you have a gardening philosophy you would like to share with other gardeners? What is it?
    Winter sowing! I could never grow anything from seed in the house for many years, and years. (trust me I would try & try!) Winter sowing has amazed me and opened up a whole new world for me!
  • If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
    tomato, a close second would be lettuce, or spinach.
  • What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
    orchid they are so darn temperamental and the flowers are so diverse.
  • What is your favorite time in the garden?
    Early morning when all the birds start flitting about, i.e. the best bug catchers I know, and the late evening's when everything is quiet and peaceful.
  • What is your favorite color in the garden?
    I like them all, I lean towards reds, and blues, with a splash of pink, and purple I would have to say best of all I like green.
  • What is your favorite place or activity in the garden?
    Popping those wonderful cherry tomatoes in my mouth and sharing my bounty, and excess with others.
  • What is your favorite public or private garden in the world? Why?
    I don't have a 'particular favorite' I have seen many diverse, and beautiful gardens. One of my favorites happened to be my grandmother's front porch crammed with potted exotic plants...
  • What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
    My grandmother's. I strive to have 1/2 the green thumb that these wonderful women did. My grandfather for his awesome vegetable gardens I enjoyed immensely while growing up.
  • Gardening Dilemmas
    Weeds of course! The garden hose as well. It trips me up, mows my plants down and I can always find a line of ants on ti as well! I swear Sacratomato,(Sacramento), CA is built upon the world's biggest ant hill!
  • What do you dislike most about gardening?
    WEEDS! I am living in the garden of weeden! I am becoming a master at lasagna style gardening....
  • What do you like most about gardening?
    I love to start things from seed. Growing my own veggies and flowers. I am trying my hand at vermicomposting. I love to swap seeds. Organic gardening, I strive to use no pesticides, or herbicides!
