• Plant late in the day and drape with shade cloth for a few days
• Plant papayas and palms at this time
• Plant late-summer and fall-blooming bulbs
• Start seeds of cool-season vegetables, herbs, and flowering annuals in pots
• Good time to plant succulents if your property is along the coast
• Direct-seed marigolds, nasturtium, and zinnias for fall color
• Inventory your garden for Fall planting

And if you're down here in Southern California, near San Diego, you can plant tomatoes right? For the \"winter\" crop!

For tomatoes, it depends a bit on your location. I planted tomato seedlings in late July and will have a crop in November. People who live in cooler locations will instead have stiff, dormant or dead plants. It's an inexpensive experiment, so give it a try!

Could you please name some fall blooming
bulbs. Is it too late to plant them in September in San Diego?
