Propegating a climbing rose

Hello, fellow gardeners-
I believe I read many, many years ago
that one can buy some kind of rooting powder (Ortis Root?) and use that somehow
to cause a rose clipping to be planted. A friend clipped off a wild climbing rose
branch,( just about 6 inches)for me. Can anyone tell me how to this? Hope the sun is shining for you today! B) :) Thanks!

I've used root tone on many different types of plants including roses. if you strip the leaves off of most of the stem and just leave a couple at the top, dip the other end in root tone and put in potting soil...

make sure you don't scrap off the rooting hormone when you plant the cutting (ie. dig a hole and fill gentle, don't just push into the soil). also, make sure to keep the soil moist, but don't overwater! If you can place the pot with the cutting on a bench that warms during the day, even better! Good luck!

Ps- RootTone, TakeRoot, and Hormex, should all work great.

I live in Houston, Texas, finding a place to keep it "warm" is our specialty here!
Actually, "baking" is probably more accurate! Thanks for the great advice, I will try it!

Oh! Well, in that case, just make sure it doesn't dry out; you want to keep it moist.
