  • What is a garden myth you hear frequently which you know is untrue?
    Gravel in the bottom of a pot provides better drainage. NOT TRUE!
  • And, what is the reality?
    The longer the soil column, the better the drainage!
  • What is your favorite gardening outfit or costume?
    No costume. Just jeans and shoes.
  • If you could grow only one plant, what would it be?
    Equisetum hymale.
  • What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
    Gardenias. For some reason I could never get my plant to flower. Only tried one, but eventually just gave it away.
  • What is your favorite time in the garden?
    Spring. Finally have plenty of sunlight and warm weather so I can be outside in the yard all day long (and even into the night!).

    Green and purple.
  • What is your favorite place or activity in the garden?
    I love pruning to shape.

    Taft Gardens in Ojai. Used to be public, now its private and I can go whenever I want!! Muhuahahahaha!

    My dad. Made me work in the yard every weekend. I hated it at first, but now I love it! :)
