HOW-TO PLANNING TOOLS WHO WE ARE SHOP
Growing beans is easy. The question is, Pole or Bush?
Pole or Bush?

Pole Beans

  • Plant seeds right where they are to grow – no need to start indoors
  • Vines can climb a pole, or – even better – a specially designed Bean Tower
  • Crop matures gradually over 6 to 8 weeks
  • Vertical growth habit is a good fit in small-space gardens
  • Some varieties have showy, colorful pods

Bush Beans

  • Compact plants don’t need supports
  • Sow seeds where they are to grow – no need to start indoors
  • Plants produce abundantly for 3 to 4 weeks, then decline
  • Can be sown in succession for several crops throughout the season
  • Good choice if you plan to harvest all at once for freezing, pickling or canning
