Example Plant 'The Mulch'
Super Cool PlantThis is an example of what it looks like if USE a set of Free Monthly Plant Care Reminders. We've put this here to show you the features which are available when you 'USE' a set of free Plant Care Reminders. When you 'USE' Plant Care Reminders you say where I live, these are the plants I have, then in turn get plant care advice sent directly to your personal profile page, so you can simply check your Monthly Plant Care any time, day or night, to see what you should be doing in your garden. See when to Buy a Plant, Fertilize, Prune, Harvest, Transplant and all sorts of other important tasks, automatically, year round. In this example we're saying this plant care is for Sunset Zone 24, and USDA Zone 10b. These are just a few examples of how you can use our system to become a better gardener. We hope this helps!

Bambusa oldhamii
Oldham Bamboo Clumping Giant BambooBamboo generally like soils rich in organic material, and with good drainage. Be generous with "planting mixes" when you first plant them out. Most will grow "well" in hard packed clay soils, or even decomposed granite, but they will generally grow faster and look better if the soil has been amended when planted. A fertilizing program with a high nitrogen plant food will encourage larger foliage, and faster growth. Generally a good application around the plant about every 2 to 3 months starting in spring will keep them looking great. There's not a lot of need to feed them after September as the weather cools.
