  • My 5 favorite plants are
    Morning Glory, Roses (all), Night Blooming Jasmine, Hydrangea, Bird of Paradise, Split Philadendron, Pansies, Variety of ferns.
  • What is your favorite gardening outfit or costume?
    Overalls, plenty of pockets and ease of movement.
  • What is the one question about gardening you would really like people to ask you?
    How do we attract so many different wild life. Squirrels, Hawk, Falcon, Raven, Dove, Blue Jay, Dragon Fly, Butterflies, Bees, Humming Birds.
  • And what's the answer?
    No Pesticides. Lots of trees for protection. Keep water basins full and fresh. Grow wild flowers year round in addition to regular plants and have aviary of Zebra Finches about 145-150. The finches attract the Hawks and Falcon Blue Jay's etc.
  • Do you have a gardening philosophy you would like to share with other gardeners? What is it?
    I believe in letting my trees grow natural and only trim when absolutely necessary for fire regs. As a result We have two pines over 80ft, 1 Ash and 1 Acacia over 80ft and three more Acacia over 25 ft and one Split philadendron group which is 5-6 ft wide and 14ft high. Keep up colors in the garden.

    Morning Glories
  • What plant have you tried to grow that has given you the most trouble? Or, what plant would you like to grow and can't, and why?
    Gardenia, I may try again but the only one I had died.
  • What is your favorite time in the garden?
    Anytime, but generally morning and late afternoon.
  • What is your favorite color in the garden?
    Bright pink of Boganvilla and deep purple of Morning glory.
  • What is your favorite public or private garden in the world? Why?
    The Arboretum in Arcadia, variety of plants, and Peacocks.
  • What individual has influenced your gardening interest the most? How?
    My grandmother, we spent a lot of time when I was a child growing vegitables during World War II and the aftermath.
