General Information
Tropical in nature, the Caribbean Copper Plant is a showy large shrub or small multi-stemmed tree that succeeds wherever pointsettia plants (it\'s related to them) grow well outdoors. Evergreen in Southern California coastal areas, it is deciduous when grown inland, and is best protected from frost. The most popular forms in cultivation have bright maroon-red foliage, somewhat resembling the red-leaved forms of smoke bush (Cotinus). In colder areas, Caribbean Copper Plant may be grown in containers and wintered-over indoors or in a greenhouse.
