Goldenrod - Solidago spp
Goldenrod bloom bright yellow in Fall at the same time as Zauschneria. Very easy perennial which spreads. Has been unjustly blamed for causing allergies (it's the ragweed, not the goldenrod!). Good late color perennial.

Cape Sebastian Daisy - Erigeron glaucus 'Cape Sebastian'
Lavender, almost evergreen/everblooming daisies with yellow centers. Very neat in appearance and can be used as a groundcover. Tough and adaptable, will tolerate clay soils nicely. Late bloomer.

Douglas Iris - Iris douglasiana
Evergreen shade to part shade loving iris. Great under oak trees. Very easy, clumping, incredibly beautiful flowers in early spring. Lots of colorful hybrids are available from white to lavender to mauve to brown/blue!

Orange Bush Monkey Flower - Mimulus aurantiacus
Free flowering with fairly long bloom cycle available in many colors. Hummingbird favorite. Drought tolerant. Look like little azaleas. [photo below is a yellow form].

Margarita Penstemon - Penstemon heterophyllus 'Margarita BOP'
Easy, densly flowered, low growing penstemon with incredible blue/purple flower display. Fairly long bloom cycle from about late February to June. Good up-front color.
