Question: I have a bunch of photos of plants which I'd like to add to your plant encyclopedia, how can I do that?
Answer: We love when people add their plant photos to the encyclopedia. We're always looking for more photos - so please feel free to upload as many as you'd like. You'll get all the proper credit and you'll retain your copyright (click here to see all the legal stuff).
Here's How To Do It (You need to be a member and logged into the Mulch).
First: Find the Plant in our Plant Encyclopedia. To do this, in the main navigation hover your mouse over the Plants link, then click on the Plant Encyclopedia link. This will take you to the search page.
Second: Search for the plant you have a photo of. You'll end up at our Plant Search page (below), simply type in a plant name (either botanical or common name) and click the "GO" button. It will show you a list of plants that match your name. Try again if you don't get the correct results, spelling can be tricky!
In this example, I have a great photo of a Cycas revoluta (or Sago Palm), so I searched for Cycas revoluta and the clicked "GO" and the results were then shown right below the search box.
Third: Once you click on the Plant Name link you'll end up on the "Plant Details" page for that plant. You can do a lot from that page, but in this case you're going to add a photo of of this plant. Click on the "Photo" Link as seen below.
Fourth: This will land you on the Upload a Photo section of the Plant Page. Just follow the instructions and you'll be all set (Please make sure they are the correct plant)!
Fifth: Once your photos are uploaded you'll see a thumbnail of it on the results page (along with any other photos of that plant). Click on the photo to see larger version, or click on the persons name who uploaded it to visit their profile (and see all of their photos).
You can see all of the Plant Encyclopedia photos from our community in one place under the "Plants" menu (see below).
From there you'll be taken to the Newest Plant Photos page where you can see all of the plant photos, who took them and all sorts of cool stuff:
So what are you waiting for? Help us out and upload a few photos of the plants you're growing!
Feel free to contact us with any questions your problems you have, we'd love to have you show off your Plant Photos!
