Our Story
The Mulch was developed out of frustration. I was having a hard time finding recommendations and detailed instructions for the plants I had in my garden.

I had a few books, a couple of favorite web sites, my local garden center and a real passion for gardening. What I didn’t have is a single place to find care instructions specifically for the plants in my garden, in my region. I knew there were all sorts of experts in the area, but I just didn’t know how to go about finding them, never the less find out how to get them to give me their plant recommendations. So I thought, hey, why don’t I find a way to make this happen. Well my plan is quite grandeous, and it includes a way to solve my own gardening problems, and create an online community designed for each gardener to have the best possible gardening experiences. - Mitch Shirts

Presently:
We are an independent group of avid gardeners. We’ve created a online community centered around the learning more about one of our precious resources – gardening and horticultural experts. We wanted to find out their opinions about gardening, garderners, and plants. We wanted to provide this insight to the millions of people in who may be able to learn from their 100s of years of collective expertise. We also developed this gardening community in order promote all of the great products, associations, clubs, nurseries, growers and anyone else that has given their heart and soul to the passion that is gardening.

In the Near Future:
We are developing a system to deliver specific plant care information about the plants in your garden. We’ve joined together to develop a way for individual gardeners to have one easy place to go for all of their local gardening information.
